Although great for business, a strong economy and sellers’ market often brings great frustration to ministries working to keep costs affordable for their attendees.
That frustration became reality for LWML in 2017 as they struggled to find the balance between affordability and a destination that met their unique needs. Committed to a regional rotation and affordable rates during that region’s peak season, LWML was at an impasse in negotiations. The ministry’s options would not result in a successful or well attended event.
A major hotel brand’s national sales office and another denominational organization recommended the ministry contact Arrowhead.
Arrowhead partnered with LWML to present an option that no one had yet considered – walk away from the offer on the table. The willingness to walk away, in faith that God would provide for their needs was the surrender needed for a fresh start. Nearly a year later, patience paid off as Arrowhead reconnected with their top destination with a willingness to move forward quickly if a revised bid was presented that met a significantly lower price point. We were able to identify and negotiate “added” costs (staging, power, internet, labor, etc.), confirm discounted food and beverage pricing, secure affordable rates, and minimize LWML’s contractual liability.
LWML’s patience and trust in the Lord’s provision reaped a 20% savings in room rate and 33% in convention center rental costs totaling nearly $250,000 in overall savings. God’s commitment to training His people in righteousness and equipping them for every good work is evident in how he cares for every detail of our conference planning. He truly is the God who provides.
